About This Location
There are two separate campgrounds here: A-side (30 Amp only) and B-side (30/50). The A-side is newer and slightly nicer, with close showers and bathrooms. The boat ramp is also here.
The B-side is older, with rougher roads and sites, but it has more and deeper sites, as well as being completely wooded. The dump station is located on this side.
There are good mountain bike paths around the park. Excellent fishing around. Easy access, with some laundromats nearby.
Directions: From Barling, Arkansas, drive SR-59 north for 1.5 miles and follow signs to the campground.
Springhill Park Mountain Bike Trail, a 10-mile “fast” trail, is popular among expert mountain bikers for frequent racing. The trail is also designated a National Recreation Trail.
Some campsites line the river, while others are situated between the lake and Massard Creek. The terrain includes bottomland hardwood timber banks, steep bluffs, and broad farming fields.
Recreation: The lush waters of the Arkansas River offer excellent year-round fishing for catfish, bream, crappie, white and largemouth bass. From late fall to early spring, the tailwaters directly below the lock and dam offer some of the greatest sauger fishing in the country.
Springhill Park has several roomy sites with power hookups and four large group picnic shelters. Showers, a trash station, a playground, and boat ramps are among the additional amenities.
