About This Location
You may stay 14 days at Schoodic Bay – Acadia area (hike in-boat in).
From Coastal Route 1, take Route 183 (north) until the highway stops and the route becomes Tunk Lake route. Turn left on Schoodic Beach Road. This is a gravel roadway. Keep left at the first Y in the road, and right at any following Ys (I believe there are two). You will arrive at a trailhead and parking lot with a dump toilet. Take the 0.5-mile easy hike to the lake.
You can camp for up to 14 days. There are fire rings, two dump toilets, leashed dogs, and boat access.
If you’re planning a trip to Acadia, I recommend going here. Nice and ample spaces straight on the beach with fire rings, around 45 minutes from the park. Can’t ask for more. I arrived on my motorcycle at 11 p.m. and had no problems, despite the fact that it’s a bit of a thrill to park three miles in. The hike in is really short, and I hauled everything in. The facility is fairly clean, however it can get busy.
