About This Location

This region features a tiny lovely mountain stream with waterfalls, boulders, and cliffs. There is access to Richland Creek Wilderness Area. Eleven family camping units. Visitors are discouraged from taking camping trailers to Richland Creek due to the poor roads.

Directions: From Russellville, travel Arkansas 7 north about 37 miles to Pelsor, then turn right (east) on Arkansas 16 for 10 miles before turning left (north) on Forest Service Road 1205 (gravel), which lies 1.5 miles south of Ben Hur. Take Forest Service Road 1205 (gravel) north for 9 miles to Richland Creek.

Beautiful surroundings. However, depending on which road you approach the site from, if you’re coming from 1205, I can confirm you’ll find numerous spots to explore some dispersed camping with fire rings on both sides of the road. There are numerous paths that go through the area, and I definitely recommend taking advantage of some of the river and little waterfall vistas because… wow!

Just know that if you’re considering stopping here, do it because it’s great.
