About This Location
Pikeville is a Class D park located on Lake Greeson with 12 campsites. Picnic tables, service tables, ground barbecues, lantern poles, and a vault-style restroom are among the amenities.
Location: 6 miles north of Murfreesboro to the dam on Highway 19, then 5 miles west via paved and gravel roads.
Lake Greeson is one of three lakes in southwest Arkansas that comprise the Ouachita River Basin. Lake Greeson is a man-made lake with the only all-concrete dam in the Vicksburg District.
Whether you want to enjoy the clear water for boating or swimming, or to take in the beauty of the land on one of our paths, we are convinced that you will appreciate and enjoy your visit to Lake Greeson.
The campsite is quite lovely. Several sites near the lake. Secluded and quiet. The route in is a little bumpy, with a few of large mudholes. We recommend 4WD or AWD. Beautiful surroundings.
The final stretch of road is paved, most likely because it is Army Corps property. The paved area is gradually being recovered by nature.
There are several beautiful sites down here, both near the lake and on the ridge. The ridge offers 180-degree views of the lake. There are fire rings, barbecue pits, and a pit toilet.
You are meant to pay the money, but there are no envelopes to register with, and it does not appear that someone checks the pay station (it was still off season when we visited in April, so this may change in the summer).
