About This Location
Day-use area with boat launch. Walk-in camp site, Jeep road. Rocky Lake is a huge, shallow lake (according to locals). On a bright day, the water is warm. The campsite was up a hill. Another camper was using “road” as a Jeep road, which was most likely intended for walk-ins. We spotted a lot of rocks and roots. One of three locations on Rocky Lake.
Popular location. Gravel and dirt parking areas bordered by trees but cleared for maximum solar exposure on bright days.
Used for day walks and five walk-in oceanfront campsites.
I’ve been here three times, and most of the automobiles in the parking lots belong to hikers or walk-in campers. We were the only van-lifers in the parking area, but we took advantage of the amazing seaside trail hike.
The pit toilet appeared clean, and AT&T mobile coverage was robust, with three bars.
14 days of free camping within a 45-day period.
