About This Location

City of Rocks NM State Park Campground is open year-round. There are 30 or more campsites at this location. You may stay 14 in 20 days at City of Rocks NM State Park Campground.

This campground has 35 developed campsites for $10/night. There are also 10 campsites with electric for more (price depends on hookups). Hot showers.

This site is stunning. We stayed here one night. We arrived at 1pm and discovered plenty of dispersed camping places, which started to fill up later in the day. Hookup places were all reserved, however they aren’t particularly appealing.

We took spot 26 at the back. The site was easy to pull through, flat on top, with shade, a fire pit grill, rocks, trees, and privacy, oh my. I believe there are around 5 pull-through sites in the back, but there are plenty of other options for larger rigs.

We took the three-mile easy circular trail around the park and up into the rocks. One lady climbed down the rocks onto our camp and apologized, saying she nearly stepped on a rattlesnake and had to get off quickly. So take care on the rocks. Pay $10 for no connections at the station near the entrance. It’s well worth it.
