Brush Lake Campground stays quiet, nestled inside the Huron-Manistee National Forests. Since the campground hugs the lake, you can camp just steps from the water—pretty great for anyone craving a nature fix.

The campsites spread out beneath tall trees, so you can usually find a spot that feels tucked away. The forested land offers plenty of space to wander, hike, or just sit and listen to the birds.

There’s a drive-in boat launch too, so if you’re hauling a boat or kayak, you’ll have easy access. It’s a sweet setup for fishing, paddling, or simply floating the afternoon away.

Things To Do

At Brush Lake Campground, there’s no shortage of ways to enjoy the water. Boating’s a big draw—you can use the drive-in boat launch or the smaller carry-in launch right at the campground. Bring your own boat, kayak, or even a jet ski if you’re feeling adventurous.

Fishing pulls in a lot of folks, too. Anglers try their luck from the shore or boat, hoping for a good catch. Even if you don’t catch anything, it’s a relaxing way to spend the day.

If you’re not into boating, paddleboarding or swimming are solid options. The water’s usually cool and inviting on a hot day. Hiking trails wind through the area, and you might spot some wildlife if you’re lucky.

There’s no dining hall here, so you’ll want to bring your own food or plan a picnic. Cooking over a campfire or grill just feels right in a place like this.

At Brush Lake Campground, vehicles up to 35 feet can get in without a problem. That covers most cars, trucks, and RVs, so whether you’re rolling in with a tiny camper or something bigger, you’re good.

The campground roads are clear and easy to navigate. We found the paths well-kept and wide enough, so parking isn’t a headache.

Boaters can use the drive-in boat launch on the river’s east side, and there’s a smaller carry-in launch right in the campground. Getting your boat in the water is about as easy as it gets.

If you’re hauling a trailer or extra gear, there’s plenty of space. The layout’s pretty forgiving for most setups.
