Vermilion Cliffs Boondocking Near Marble Canyon, Arizona
About This Location
The road in is Dirt and .5 miles from a paved road. A dirt road that isn’t marked goes into the BLM land, just to the east of where Hwy 89-Alt crosses Soap Creek. The gate isn’t locked, but there are cows around, so make sure to keep it closed!
The dirt road splits just past the gate… if you go left, it’s for 4WD, and if you go right, it’s for 2WD. The easiest place to get to is a big corner right past a little fenced radio tower. The noise from the road is pretty low, and there’s a bump that hides most of the highway from view, but not completely.
The sunrise on the Vermilion Cliffs is super cool, and if you keep going to the end of the road, you’ll find a special spot where you can see Marble Canyon, which is also known as The Colorado River and The Grand Canyon! Don’t drive off the road! The dirt is super soft and can turn into muddy quicksand really fast when it rains.
