Picnic shelters are available at three campsites, with two single shelters and one double shelter appropriate for bigger groups. The campground includes two easily accessible vault toilets and trash receptacles. A small nature route runs among the plants that have found a niche along the bleak rim, leading to an overlook of the canyon with a bench for relaxing and admiring the scenery.
Three picnic sites and a campground are located along the canyon rim, which overlooks Angel Peak and the Kutz Canyon badlands. The rim road features three picnic places (Sage, Castle Rock, and Cliffs), each with seven constructed sites. Each site includes a shelter, tables on concrete, a gravel footpath, and a fire grate. Trash cans are located in each of the three picnic sites. Accessible vault toilets are accessible at both the Sage and Cliffs picnic spots.
The first picnic place is one mile down a gravel road. The campground is six miles along the same road. We remained in our 35′ RV at the first picnic area and were completely alone. Some tent campers were at a boondocking campground. A hidden gem!
